California Lawmakers Approve Nation-Leading $25 Minimum Wage for Health Workers

KFF Health News reports on the agreement made between the labor and health industry that could raise minimum wage to $25 an hour for California hospitals, nursing homes, and other medical and psychiatric service providers. SB 525, now heading to Governor Gavin Newsom's desk, is also said to annually increase to account for inflation after reaching the agreed $25 minimum. The UC Berkeley Labor Center projected this increase would raise wages for over 469,000 health workers.
